I started researching starting a new business about a year ago, and next month will be the official anniversary of Amberly Way. I get asked a lot, “So, how’s the jewelry business going?”. I normally have some small reply, “Oh, you know, it’s going okay, I’m working on…” Reality is, when I start something new, I’m very methodical about it. There’s a lot of planning, a lot of thinking, and a fair amount of procrastination (read: fear). And even so, a lot has happened in the last year. So how IS the jewelry business going?
I’ve started a new website (twice). I learned how to use QuickBooks (because apparently when you have a business, you have to do accounting!) I am over my fear/dread of doing shows, and I’ve done 3 shows so far (with more to come). I joined a local business organization, and have met some amazing people. I had a local graphic designer help with branding the business. And I’ve made jewelry that I am proud of, that I love.
Oh yeah, and today I started a blog. 🙂
Certainly there will be more details to come on all of these things, but that is another post for another day.
